Meet the Team

Beverley Kadish

   Director and Senior Occupational Therapist

As the practice founder and owner of Write Start, Beverley is passionate about working with families to see children achieve their full potential at home, school and in the community.  She graduated in 1991 in South Africa and has worked across a range of settings including hospitals, community health centres, special schools, private practices and specific multidisciplinary assessment and treatment clinics.

Beverley has a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy, as well as post graduate training in Sensory Integration and Neurodevelopmental Therapy.  She is a dynamic therapist who likes to create fun, challenging sessions for her clients and provides parents with support to understand their child’s needs and advocate at schools  for their needs as well as educating the teaching staff.

Beverley has a special interest in Sensory Processing Disorders, Fragile X Syndrome, Developmental Co-ordination Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders and school readiness.  She is also a member of the Fragile X Alliance.

Ingrid Levin

Senior Occupational Therapist

Ingrid is a dynamic and passionate therapist who has worked in the field of paediatrics since qualifying with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1995. She worked across various settings including remedial and mainstream schools and private practice, and ran her own practice for 18 years. She moved from South Africa to settle in Melbourne with her husband and 3 children in 2018. She has post graduate training in Sensory Integration. Ingrid enjoys creating a fun, playful space to engage children to learn and develop confidence so that they can reach their full potential. She has a special interest in Sensory Processing, gross and fine-motor skills, visual perception, hand writing and school readiness.

Carli Goldberg

Occupational Therapist

Carli graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor in Health Sciences and Latrobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice. She is an enthusiastic and motivated occupational therapist who has worked in paediatrics since graduating, and has experience working with children with Learning Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Difficulties, and varying degrees of fine and gross motor skill deficits.

She works closely with students and schools in the area of handwriting development in both one on one and group settings. She provides support to parents and families for their children by advocating for their needs in the school environment, and implementing strategies for teachers to use in the classroom. Carli is passionate about working with children to promote everyday independence and participation in activities at home, kinder and school settings.

      

Tayla Levinthal

Occupational Therapist

Tayla has completed her Master of Occupational Therapy Practice at La Trobe University. She also has a background in psychology, having previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Arizona.

She is passionate about working with children and using a strengths based approach to help them reach their full potential. Tayla actively looks to incorporate creative approaches into therapy sessions to keep children engaged and motivated.

Tayla has experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays, to complete every day activities and reach as much independence as possible.

Outside of work, Tayla loves to travel, play soccer and spend time outdoors.

Jenna Kadish

Occupational Therapist

Jenna is passionate about working with children and their families to encourage independence and participation in the home, school and community. She completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at the Australian Catholic University.

Jenna uses a strengths based approach to motivate and engage her client’s to work towards achieving their goals. She understands the importance of using a  collaborative team approach and providing strategies and support to parents, teachers and other team members to implement in the home and school environment. Jenna has experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fragile X Syndrome and other developmental delays.  Jenna enjoys building lasting relationships with her clients and their families to support them to reach their full potential.

Demi Goldberg

Occupational Therapist

Demi graduated with a Masters of Occupational Therapy practice from LaTrobe University. Since then, she has worked closely with students in their school environment to address fine motor and handwriting skills. Demi also has a bachelor of Education with Honours in Early Years and Primary Teaching, as well as a Certificate 3 in Individual Support (Disability). Having been involved in the disability sector for 9 years, she is committed to combining her two passions to support clients in achieving both their individualised learning and therapy-based goals. She currently also works as a disability support worker for a number of young adults with varying abilities, and is a dedicated advocate for all things inclusion.

Talya Sack

Occupational Therapist

Talya is an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with a passion for improving quality of life,
promoting participation and engagement, and achieving the best possible outcomes with
her clients and their families.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Occupational Therapy
Practice, Talya has gained experience working with children with a variety of diagnoses
including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay and Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity disorder. Her interest areas include fine and gross motor skills, sensory
processing, self-care, handwriting and school readiness.
Talya is passionate about supporting children to participate in meaningful occupations and
finding creative ways to provide therapy. She enjoys working in collaboration with families,
therapists and other supports to achieve the child’s goals with a practice approach of client-
centred care and evidence-based practice.

Chana Yanofsky

Occupational Therapist

Chana is excited to have recently joined the team at Write Start. Chana graduated in 2012 from Latrobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice. Since then, she has worked as a paediatric occupational therapist in Israel in a variety of settings including community health centres, special schools, and in her own private clinic. She also worked as a consultant in a special needs’ organisation in Jerusalem, delivering a number of workshops to the educational staff on topics related to child development. Chana has completed training in the CogFun method for ADHD, the DIR/Floortime® approach, sensory integration, and recently completed a two-year training as a parenting coach. She loves using her skills to achieve therapy goals, positively impact the lives of her clients and enjoys empowering teachers and parents to make positive changes in the school and home environments. Chana has a special interest in ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder and emotional regulation and strives to use an integrative approach that is both holistic and client-centred.

Candice Bracka

Office Manager

You will always be greeted with a warm smile and a bubbly personality by Candice our Practice Manager.  With an Arts degree, she has many years experience working in administrative and customer services roles in a variety of medical practices and as office manager of a gallery.

She manages the billing and all administrative procedures for Write Start. She manages all payments and funding such as FaHCSIA, NDIS, Medicare and Private Health Insurance.

She co-ordinates our team and supports all the therapists with the management of their children and families, assisting with day-to-day running of the practice, therapy support duties and creation of resources.  Candice has a keen eye for detail and a great memory.

Kayla Serebro

Therapy Support

Kayla is currently studying  Occupational Therapy at ACU.  She supports our clinical staff with administration while furthering her knowledge of the industry. Kayla has a passion for children and once qualified hopes to specialize in this field.

Liora Sher

Therapy Support

Liora is currently studying  Occupational Therapy at Monash University.  She supports our clinical staff with group programs and administration while furthering her knowledge of the industry. Liora also runs individual therapy sessions as an Allied Health Assistant making them fun and engaging for children.

Tracy Ryan

Bookeeper

Tracy is our behind the scenes bookkeeper, who has worked at Write Start for over eight years.  She attends to the books leaving therapists free to do what they love best.  Tracy is a perfectionist who is very precise and methodical when working.
