Groups

We offer a range of group programs to cater for a variety of needs throughout the school year. Groups can be a starting point in therapy or be deemed suitable at a particular point in your child’s therapy program to suit their individual needs.

Regular groups run at Write Start include:

School Readiness Groups: Prior to starting prep, these groups help with following routines and instructions; focus and attention; developing fine motor and prewriting skills and independence skills.

Fine Motor Groups: For kinder and prep children to help develop hand and finger strength and dexterity to assist with neatness of colouring, drawing, writing and development of cutting skills.

Gross Motor Groups: For primary aged students, this group helps to develop co-ordination and skill for outdoor games to promote inclusion at school. A great confidence booster!

Handwriting Groups: For students in grades 1-5 our handwriting groups focus on letter formation, letter size and placement, pencil control and neatness, use of capital letters.

Fine motor and Handwriting Groups may be run at school if there are  sufficient numbers and appropriate space at the school.

The cost of Write Start’s group programs vary, depending on the length of each group session  and the number of sessions to be run.
